Opioid Death Data Analysis

This chart shows the type of drug that caused an overdose along with the number of deaths by state for the drug that caused the overdose. One fact that sticks out here is the color orange drug (Methadone) appears the be the least deadly drug across all states. We also noticed that as the total number deaths per states grows, the type of drug seems to gravitate towards more powerful drugs (Heroin or Synthetic Opioids). In the states where there are fewer deaths, the most common drugs are natural or synthetic opioids. This is common to what we hear on the news; in that, as more powerful opioids are being used they are driving higher deaths.
